IB DP Assessment

· Students take written examinations at the end of the programme, which are marked by external IB examiners. Students also complete assessment tasks in the school, which are either initially marked by teachers and then moderated by external moderators or sent directly to external examiners.

· The diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points, subject to certain minimum levels of performance across the whole programme and to satisfactory participation in the creativity, action, service requirement. The highest total that a Diploma Programme student can be awarded is 45 points.

· The assessment during the two year programme is both Formative and Summative in nature. There are regular weekly written tests along with orals, student led projects and presentations, assignments etc which are conducted along as a unit progresses.

· The year 1 and year 2 students are assessed throughout the year in four quarters at the end of which a quarterly report is generated and shared with the parents during a PTM. Along with the fourth quarter, an annual report is provided to the students of year 1 while the year 2 students appear for their IB DP examinations.

· To maintain rigour throughout the two years of study, an extensive academic routine is followed which is coupled with regular well monitored assignments for home that the students are provided with.

Lancers International School strives to develop global citizens who make a difference to the world. LIS is authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate (IB).

DP AT LIS

The curriculum is modeled with the student at the centre of the approach, guided by the learner profile and the Approaches to Teaching & Learning. The diploma programme has six subject areas which the students study during the two years along with the three core components.

IB MYP AT LIS

Lancers International School is authorised to offer the Middle Years Programme. We are now an IB continuum school, with the authorisation for the PYP, MYP, DP.
